Here’s an update of what I’ve been working on for personal project stuff since last time. A bit of an art sketch dump, I disovered Concepts for ipad which is by far my favorite app for straight up drawing. I still prefer paintstorm & Krita for compositing and painting but not having to fret about resolution and image borders when trying to free associate is a godsend!

As for the rest of the personal work I guess I’ll start from a while ago. Surprisingly, this is two years ago but it’s not up anywhere:
I have been trying for quite a long time to find a workflow that’s part 2D and part 3D that works, so far my success is tentative at best. It seems to be super difficult to get life into a 3D pose the way one can do in 2D with a few quick lines, and I always struggle with anything that starts with 3D looking rigid and uncomfortable.
Here I was testing out a few workflows on ipad drawing apps, and I gotta say, there are some way more natural feeling color spaces than regular srgb when it comes to mixing colors!
The following are tests using I think RealPainter or something for the ipad, I definitely grew a love for patterned backdrops and nice mixing. I think one thing computer art misses is the “happy accidents” that happen when using mediums with some amount of chaos. You might see something cool in a little section of scumbled paint that inspires you to do an entire separate drawing. A lineage of ideas!
